The regional government of Murcia has approved the draft of the Gambling Regulation Act in this region, which includes the rules for betting shops. This was announced by Inmaculada García, Councillor of Economic Affairs of Murcia, after the meeting of the Governing Council.

The Councillor of Economy Affairs explained that this legislation includes betting as a new game, which will develop once it has entered into law. She has also indicated that the future law will replace the current Law 2 / 1995 of March 15th.

With this new regulation The Murcia Council is backing the idea of modernizing gaming administrative procedures. In addition, the rules strengthen the degree of protection to players and users and the proceedings related to pathological gamblers by creating databases and penalties and considering also obligations of companies to inform players of the dangers of compulsive gambling.

It also introduces a more comprehensive definition of the elements and gaming devices and furthermore the technical conditions for the approval or authorization -  all with the goal of providing greater agility and control to the industry and to enhance the safety of users and gaming companies.
