Lagislation Update
The Law 6 / 2009, dated 15 December on Fiscal and Administrative Measures for 2010, amended the bingo tax so that, after its entry into force, quantities obtained by players as prizes can be deducted. 
The Governing Council of the Basque Country has approved New Gaming Machines Rules.
The regional government of Murcia has approved the draft of the Gambling Regulation Act in this region, which includes the rules for betting shops. This was announced by Inmaculada García, Councillor of Economic Affairs of Murcia, after the meeting of the Governing Council.
The European Court of Justice (ECJ) found that Tax exemption restricted to winnings from lotteries and games of chance organised by state national bodies and entities in Spain, unduly discriminates against other EU organizers of lotteries offered to Spanish residents.
